Testimonials

9th May 2011

Hi Alison

Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic morning yesterday, the course was very interesting and informative and it was really good to meet like minded people. I got some great ideas and it was good to hear other peoples thoughts and questions.

I now can’t wait to get some chickens, and can feel that addiction you mentioned coming on, I have already been looking at some “eye candy”! – I am even considering a pig or two.

Will be over soon for some chickens.

Thanks again

Mandy Daniels

Pig Butchery Course

The course is completely hands on, with a maximum of 2 delegates. You will each have half a pig and and a knife and will be given expert tuition by a butcher on how to butcher the pig to your requirements.

As well as learning your way around the various cuts you will be taught to bone and roll joints, including being able to tie a butcher's knot. You will be given the confidence to tackle the butchery on your own at home whether on your own produced pigs or on a half pig you have bought from a breeder.

The course lasts about 3 hours.

The cost is £140 for the course and you will also have the opportunity to purchase a half pig or quarter pig at a course price of £4.00 per kilo (usually £4.50 per kilo).
