Thanks for a great day Alison
I found it very informative and Alison's patience was endless allowing all of us time to grasp each aspect of the kill, gut and bone process.
I have come away feeling more confident than ever that I care, kill and cook and bone my birds, giving them the respect they deserve. The icing on the cake was having the book to take away. Complete with great colour photos to follow if I need a refresher on the boning process.
Kind regards, Angie

Hook Farm Home Page

Welcome to our Hook Farm site. This is an umbrella site for all that we do here. The tabs at the top cover everything that happens and each page will tell you about a particular subject, with a link to the site that specialises in that area. For example the Chickens tab gives you an idea about the chickens we have here and gives you a link to our chickenkeeper site which covers everything you could want to know about chickens, courses, hen houses, advice and a lot more.
When we came here in 2005, there was landscaped garden and a summer house. Since we have moved in we have installed pig pens, many chicken pens, rabbit and guinea pig cages and turned the summer house into a shop. We have put the farm back into Hook Farm and are proud of it.

We are passionate about what we do and want to encourage as many as people as possible to keep chickens, or even pigs and enjoy the taste of fresh eggs and meat from the garden. We run a number of courses to give you the necessary skills so have a look at smallholding skills website to see what you might be interested in. We have started a new knife skills course, which will stand you in good stead in the kitchen no matter where the food comes from!
We very much look forward to meeting you soon.
